After being chosen by the Indian Valley Middle School student body as their charity for their 2019 Community Day things started moving and moving quickly! The Philadelphia Union reached out and asked to honor Clark as their Hometown Hero that same weekend and then we were asked by the Harleysville Jaycees to coordinate with Clark's family to have him be the honorary Grand Marshall for the Harleysville Memorial day Parade. A couple of our local Travel teams, Harleysville Hornets 10u and 9u got into the spirit having alternate jerseys made that they wore for their Skippack memorial day Tournament.
Community Day was an amazing event that #IronDad23 helped the school facilitate. The Union game featured #IronDad23 supporters on the field for their flag ceremony and then the Non Profit on the field for the presentation of a plaque in Clark's honor with a short video in honor of Clark. #IronDad23 even won 1st place overall for the Harleysville Parade! About 100 people came out for the parade and to walk in Clark's honor! A fun filled and memorable weekend!
IVMS Check Presentation for Community Day
On November 4th, 2018 about 250 people gathered to take the first steps with #IronDad23. Clark's first dream of the Charity was a care free, fun, kid friendly, family involved walk. While his dreams of doing it with us were cut short, we decided to push ahead with his vision and hold the event. About 250 people walked less than a mile starting and ending at the Harleysville Baseball fields at the Harleysville Community Center. The walk finished on Upper Field and the 1B coaches box that Clark last stood in.
The weather was amazing and the atmosphere was electric. The handouts for #IronDad23 gear took place, a table raised money for the Clark Deardorff Memorial Fund and Clark's sons 9U Harleysville Hornets Travel team took the lead in the walk and helped feed the entire #IronDad23 Family! Special thanks to 9U Head Coach Dave Wisnoski and his staff and all of their families. Thank you to all of our volunteers, the Skippack Baseball organization for showing their support and our friends at the channel 69 news. The Walk ended with the ribbon cutting ceremony for the #IronDad23 Foundation, led by Clark's Family. #IronDad23 has already started discussing new things for next years walk as we are looking forward to continuing Clark's dream and making it even bigger and better!
Walk For Clark!
On October 20th, 2019 over 150 people gathered to continue Clark's Legacy and remember him along with #IronDad23 Clark's first dream of the Non Profit was a care free, fun, kid friendly, family involved walk.
The weather for the 2nd Walk For Clark was raining and dreary. It did not stop #IronDad23 and it's supporters! It did however stop the ability to get some good photos!
Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you again next year for the Walk For Clark!
